(More customer reviews)I'm looking for wireless HD solutions for a while to meet my needs : 1. to work with my DirectTV receiver DIRECTV Plus® HR24 High Definition MPEG-4 DVR (HR-24-500) HD DVRand wirelessly transmit the HD A/V signals to my 2nd TV in other room; 2. to wirelessly send signals to the projector from my laptop with HDMI output. Recently I found Amimon's WHDI solution is the most latest and advanced technology and here comes two products using this technology which can fulfill my requests and I got both of them. They are ASUS WiCast EW2000 Wireless HD Video Transmitter and Receiver (from my laptlop) and brite-View Air SyncHD New Arrival! brite-View "Air SyncHD" (BV-2322) Wireless 1080p HD Video/ Audio Transmission Kit(for my DirectTV receiver) and I'm satisfied with both of them so far though with limited time of ownership.
Asus WiCast is pretty straight forward to set up, I only need to connect the transmitter to my laptop and connect the receiver to the projector and it's done, it wirelessly streams everything on my laptop screen to the projector and then on the projection screen. The quality of signals and transmission are great (but probably it's designed for in-room usage only so there's limitation of the distance and the penetration. I tried to connect it to the DirecTV receiver but the signal got choppy after the wall in between even it's within 30 feet).
brite-View Air SyncHD works just like it should be, I connect the transmitter to DirectTV receiver (and connect the HDMI output of the transmitter with HDTV to pass through the signals) and also connect the receiver to my 2nd TV in other room within 30 feet. The quality of HD A/V signals and transmission are great too, only it takes a bit longer to synchronize. The penetration is great without any delay and I can control the DirectTV receiver in other room with its IR sensor/extender.
I really like these two products and the WHDI technology really works great. I review both of them is to provide information and reference for those who are also looking for wireless HD solutions and you can decide which one is most suitable for your situation. Hopefully it helps!

RF Link AVS-5813 5.8Ghz A/V Wireless Receiver Review

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these units in March 2006 in response to my wife constantly changing room arrangements, and subsequently requiring that the TV work in an area that didn't have easy cable access. I looked at several units from other manufacturers, and actually bought one to try from Best Buy, which was a Leapfrog, I think. Testing that unit convinced me that the concept was sound, and I would have kept that unit except that it operated on 2.4 GHz, which caused interference every time the microwave was in use, or the telephone rang. My computer is hard wired into a network as I don't want to deal with the increased security requirements of wireless, and my phones work fine on 2.4 GHz, so I was looking for a solution, but with 5.8GHz.
I called RF-Link tech support, got all of my questions answered and placed the order through Amazon.
Product worked flawlessly for about six months and then crapped out. By crapping out, I mean that when unit was in an enclosed space where there was exessive heat buildup, the unit would stop working after about 10 minutes.
I contacted RF-Link tech support, and they promptly sent out a replacement unit, explaining that the motherboard had been completely redesigned, and therefore they sent me new units as well as new power supplies. The replacement units have worked flawlessly.
Although I was upset at having to go through the return/RMA process and the delay in using the product until thr replacement was received, everything is fine now. I would recommend this product to anyone who doesn't want the expense of paying to install cable outlets everywhere.
And for those who are concerned about 5.8 GHz interference, with phones, 6.0GHz phones are already available, so no future compatability issues there either.

Terk LF30-RX Add-on Receiver for Terk LF-30S TV Anywhere Wireless A/V System Review

(More customer reviews)This Terk add on, was purchased for the TV that I have on the enclosed front porch of my home. I use one in my office with with master control off of the bedroom (with full cable access). It work great. Whatever the tv in the bedroom is tuned to, the tv's that the add on's are connected to also show.
And I have to tell you, the picture is very clear, and the sound is great. One concern. If you have a 4.5mz cordless phone, you will have to pull the plug while using this system. Or you will have a line across the screen. I have a line phone so it doesn't matter, but take it into account when ordering. In all though, I highly recommend this item.

Ramsey TV6C VHF TV Transmitter Kit Review

(More customer reviews)I've been an electronics repairman for over 30 years and I'm also an expert kit builder. I started building kits way back when Lafayette Radio Electronics (LRE) and Heathkit offered them. I've built many Ramsey kits and this one was no big deal for me. I was able to completely build this kit in about 40 minutes. The Transmitter does what it's supposed to but it's a little over rated. Using the supplied telescopic antenna you won't get 300 feet but you will get a reliable 3 feet and that's about it. If you use an external gain antenna you may be able to achieve a little more but that's if the feed line doesn't eat it all up. I bought it to transmit my streaming Roku player to all the TV sets in the house, well, forget that idea. The transmitter works with the new digital tuners as long as the tuner is NTSC. I recommend buying this if your looking for a school or scouting project. If your looking to use it around the home, forget it.

Terk Technologies Leapfrog LF-30S Wireless 2.4 GHz A/V Distribution System Review

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a wireless way to send the video & audio from my living room to a bedroom, so that I could watch movies coming from my cable box & DVD player. Having a remote control feature, I chose this model.
I can tell you that the picture was very sharp, and the sound was great. However, I also have a Panasonic KX-TG2730 expandable cordless phone system, which operates on the same 2.4Ghz frequency. With the phone's base plugged in, it produced crackling sound and wide dark bands that scrolled vertically along the picture. Unplug the phone system, and it was flawless. I had read other mixed reviews on interference caused by 2.4Ghz phone systems, but I can tell you that the Panasonic system I mentioned did cause interference for me. I tried moving the phone base, and tried all four channels on the Leapfrog Wavemaster 30 video transmitter, but nothing helped.
In short, if you don't use any other wireless devices using the 2.4Ghz frequency (cordless phones, wireless network devices), the Terk Leapfrog Wavemaster 30 delivers a great picture with equally great sound. If you do use other wireless devices on the same frequency, I would look for a video transmitter that uses a different frequency (or a wired one), or be prepared to return it to the store.

(More customer reviews)I bought this item a few days ago and paid a huge amount for 1 day shipping because some relatives were coming in and I wanted to extend my Dish Network into their guest room. This was a huge mistake. The only review up before mine has to be the guy that sells them because nothing is farther from the truth. These things were only about 15-20 feet apart with only 1 standard 2X4 wall between them and they popped, cracked, and had lines running through the picture. I tried every channel available on the unit. I do not have any devices using the 5.8ghz band in my home and my closest neighbor is over 100 yards away so I know it cant be interference. These are just made to a substandard specification and I recommend that you stay away from them unless you want to waste your time as I did.
