(More customer reviews)I liked this screen. I had ordered two other brands before this one and ended up returning them. Some things to watch out for if you're looking into this - 1) Viewing angle...when I mounted some of the other ones you could'nt see the screen from just a small angle to the side. This makes it useless if you have kids in the middle row of a minivan and you mount the unit in the center. 2) Weight - I like the ides of having a screen only mounted to the top of the roof - it's lighter in case of an accident and has less chance of flying thru the van. Comapred to the other two units I looked at and ended up returning, this unit has a great wide viewing angle and a bright picture. Don't get too caught up in the pixel resolution..this unit actually had a lower resolution than the other units I tried but the picture ended up being better and brighter. I can recommend this unit. Stay away from the other generic no-name units for sale. Better value with this product. (If you're looking at buying a $200+ screen then I can't compare since I did'nt see those, but other $100-$200 screens, this is the best)
Should also comment this is the 930 model number. It does have 2 video inputs and 1 audio input. It does transmit sound via infrared to headphones. Be carefel here as there are more than one model of these out there so you may not get this if you order the wrong one.

(More customer reviews)This headset had me hooked and I preordered it months before I finally got it. I didn't want to review it until I put it through it's paces. Sadly it comes up short in more ways than I expected. But I'm a fair guy, so let's start with the Positive:
1) It's cordless, gets decent range ~10m in my testing.
2) The sound quality of the headset and the mic are both pretty good (i.e. no complaints in game chat).
3) Headset cushions are top notch.
4) Quality construction - they aren't breaking anytime soon.
5) I was impressed with the ease of setting them up. Plug in the USB dongle, turn them on, set games to use the new headset.
And on to the negative:
1) Granted, I have a fairly big melon, but these have a really tight fit and start to fatigue the ears after a few hours of wear.
2) The Battery life is not much over 3.5 hours in my testing. It doesn't matter what app. I found myself plugging in the power cable to continue (what's the point of cordless?!) and shutting them down even for quick breaks while idle in games.
3) No interchangeable batteries (well, I didn't take them apart to see, but then the case isn't made to be taken apart).
4) Proprietary power cable? Come on! Why this wasn't mini USB, I'll never understand.
5) The Mic only comes down on the left hand side, which I find to be an annoying engineering limitation for no particular purpose.
6) Mic is static - no way to flex it other than up or down. Though it seems to pic up my voice fairly well.
7) I didn't think this was a big deal at first, but now It might be the most annoying thing: The USB Dongle connected to the computer FLASHES green incessantly until the headset is turned on and they sync. Now, I'm a computer guy, I've a truckload of LEDs that keep the office well lit at night, but NONE of them blink and draw attention to themselves except for a few moments. This stupid thing won't stop. I have to put things in front of it to keep it from annoying me.
So, I'm disappointed in this thing. Logitech makes good gear, but engineering needs to review this one and make the following changes for version 2:
1) Use standard USB to power the headset. If you must have a charge indicator, just build it into the headset as another LED and forget the proprietary cable.
2) If you have to drop both earpieces to fit a larger head, there should be an adjustable top pad so it stays in place.
3) Make it so that the mic can flip either way, and the Left/Right speakers change accordingly.
4) Beef up the battery power and make it so it charges faster. 3 hours? Come on... even 6 hours isn't much for marathon MMORPGs or LAN Parties, and your headset came nowhere near that mark. It's not cordless if I have to keep the power cable plugged in. Suggestion: 12 Hours minimum, even if it adds to bulk a little bit. And that's actual 12 hours, not some mathematical estimate.
5. Use two different colored lights on the USB dongle instead of flashing the same one. How expensive can that be?
And for those of us that wear glasses, please make a model with convex earpieces, the concave ones put pressure at the top of the ear and they smash the earpiece of your glasses against the skull. Unpleasant. Okay, this one's more of a wish, but the others above are absolutely requisite.
There you have it. The decent sound quality, construction, and cordlessness don't come close to outweighing the technical issues. I'd give this a 2.5, but when it costs close to a hundo, the price factor says all of these things should never have been a problem. If the next version sucks the same, I'll be looking for another manufacturer (and I'm a Logitech fan).

CE LABS CAT5TX CAT-5 HD A/V Transmitter Review

(More customer reviews)I am using the CAT5TX and CAT5RX to ship HD video from my HD TiVo (in the basement) to the master bedroom (on the 2nd floor). Fortunately I had Cat5 already in the walls; I'd say it's about a 150' run. The highest resolution I've gotten from the HD TiVo is 1080i, and it looks perfect on the Sony Bravia 32" LDC in the bedroom.
Setup was easy using 2 CAT5 connections and analog audio. There is a trimmer on each receiver that I did need to adjust to obtain a clear picture. Now it looks as good (to my HD-newbie eye) as the HDMI connection to the living room ... and, because it's analog, there are no worries about some DRM scheme getting in the way.
I am using ordinary Cat5 (not 5e) ... one cable carries video, the other audio+IR. The package includes instructions for sending video + digital audio only (no analog or IR) over a single Cat5; I may try this in another room with my 2nd CAT5RX; this requires making custom RJ45 patch cables according to their instructions.
Although the device claims to relay IR from the receivers back to the transmitter, it does not include an IR hub, pickup or emitter - you're on your own to figure that out. Fortunately I already had IR distribution, so I didn't worry about it.
All in all I love this - you can pause the TiVo in one room and pick up watching in another - what a great setup and it looks perfect. I recommend these devices to anyone wanting to distribute component video at home!

Acoustic Research AWD210 Wireless Digital Stereo Headphones Review

(More customer reviews)I have now purchases 3 sets of the AWD210 headphones and 2 out of 3 have eventually broken at the left ear piece swivel joint (where the wires go through) under normal usage! I read another review from a guy who said that his headphones broke at the same location. Also, 1 of the 3 sets did not always go into charge mode and completely charge the batteries reliably every time and I only get an hour or so before they'd shut off. I tried to communicate with Acoustic Research Customer Service about the weak swivel joint plastic problem but I got only rudeness and denial out of the jerk I talked to about it. I sincerely hope they fix these problems for the next model as I will NOT buy another pair of the 210's, which is too bad, because the headphones sound GREAT in spite of the technical and quality issues. Hope my final set lasts longer than the other two did...

(More customer reviews)I picked up a set of gray units from OnFair and did a quick installation myself in an Odyssey. Unfortunately I have the dark gray interior and these units are light gray. They're not that noticeable but I went into this knowing they wouldn't be a perfect match. Running the cables through the seat back are very easy in this vehicle, but power can be a pain if you're not comfortable with finding and tapping off of an accessory source.
My first issue was that the head rest posts are very narrow so you have to use some supplied sleeves that make the posts a bit fatter and take up more space within the head rest holes within the seat. The problem was that even with the sleeves installed I could not raise the head rest and get it to latch into place. Meaning, if you raise the head rest it doesn't stay. This isn't a biggie for me as I never use or raise it anyhow but for those who do, you'll lose this functionality cause the little mechanism that's supposed to come into contact with the head rest post doesn't reach the post due to its slim design.
The designers thought of just about everything in terms of functionality in that audio for either A or B channel for separation with head sets works well and the FM transmitter works mostly pretty good so that you can hear it in the car's stereo. Yet, I found that someone can't be listening on one head rest with head phones while the other transmits cause we'd get some interference in the head phones. Also, you need to make sure that both head rests are NOT transmitting on the same channel even if the same movie is being shown on both cause you'll get interference as well. The ability to watch different movies on each unit or watch the same movie on both is very cool and worth running the cables for, but use only one for an audio source or make sure you're using different channels for each unit.
The units have a limited field of broadcast so if you're too far to one side or if you're in the back seat with the units on front seats...you'll most likely incur audio interference. Also, as the seat backs are tilted you'll see the screen appear dim as the viewing angle seems to be limited. Fortunately I'm more upright by my wife's seat was tilted a bit more than mine and I noticed one of our kids stooping down to get a better viewing angle.
As someone else mentioned, it's information overload with all of the buttons. My 8 yr old has them down though in terms of quickly setting them, but this is a hassle cause you have to set the channel to broad cast on as well as enable the input of the 2nd unit if you're watching the first unit's output every time you turn the car on. There are a lot of features but I guess it's better than having to navigate an onscreen menu. Speaking of navigating, the remotes are very small and thin. But they too contain way too many buttons. It makes usage and navigation in the dark impossible for both the head rest buttons and remote controller.
I also opted for a 3rd set of head phones. Beware that the additional head sets are not the same was what comes with the head rests and do not fit over the ears like the ones packaged with the head rests. They also have limited adjustments so do not fit well on little heads. Fortunately I found that not all 3 kids were wanting to wear them so this became a non issue, which means I probably didn't need them...but still a disappointment.
Finally, shipping was very slow as the units were on back order. We wanted them for an upcoming trip and I received them 2 days before departure, which was over 3 weeks from when ordered.
Now, enough of the bashing and on to the good stuff. I think the units are pretty well made and the screen/hinge mechanism feels solid. I did not see any dead pixels (yet) and the color is bright and vivid. I picked up the game pack and tried a few. I think the inclusion of it is pretty kewl and the games are cheap entertainment (although the controllers feel pretty lightweight). They did a nice job with providing the necessary cabling and installation is pretty straight forward. The packaged head phones that come with the head rests are comfortable and fit little heads nicely (skip the additional ones). The range of features is amazing in terms of how you can watch movies and distribute audio. Speaking of audio, the built-in speakers within the head rests are of moderate quality, but it does provide another option. I have yet to try, but you also have other forms of input such as for USB and SD which again provides additional flexibility. Lastly, for the price, I think the feature set out weighs all of the negative items I noted and makes these units a steal. If I had paid a lot more then the above noted areas of concern would become really big issues and this would be a 2 star rating. But when factoring in the cost this really a spectacular buy.

Since this TV is in a bedroom I don't have enough space to add external speakers or any other audio components, which is why I paid a premium to get the built-in 5.1.
When I saw this wireless sub at $208 on Amazon, it was worth trying so I ordered it and received it in less than a week. Took me 5 mins to plug in and VOW, what a difference it made! The wireless transmitter has Audio-L & R ports that are connected to the Audio out of my TV. It also has a LFE input to connect directly to the sub woofer output of an amp. I'm blown away by the quality of this product and the ease of use. Now I'm so used to this thing that if I turn it off, the built-in 5.1 TV speakers that used to sound pretty good, feel like tin-can speakers. I am extremely happy with this product (at this price point) and am thinking of adding another one to complement two 8" ceiling speakers in my family room. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to add that extra touch of bass to an existing TV or iPod dock or any speakers that lack the bass. I hope the $208 price stays the same for a while or even drops further.

Sony DRBT100CX/BLU Ear Bud Style Stereo Bluetooth Headset Review

(More customer reviews)I had reservations about this product when I purchased it on-line, but I had been searching for a wireless or semi wireless stereo headset that fits my modest but specific requirements, so I tried it out, and I really like it.
Unlike other Bluetooth stereo headset devices I have tried, this little unit has great range. Others I've tried had a difficult time streaming audio at the distance from my head to my hand with my arm extended at 90 degrees, which is of little use to me. With the DRBT100CX, I can place my mobile device in my pocket or even walk away from it an easy 30 meters with excellent streaming clarity.
The ear buds fit comfortably and I can manually adjust the amount of ambient noise I want to hear by adjusting how snugly I put them in my ears. This is important because there are times you need to be aware of the sounds around you, and there are times you just want to drown everything out. And because the ear buds are corded, the Bluetooth transmitter doesn't have to be pressed against the back of my skull or hanging behind my ear; I can clip it to my shirt sleeve or waist band. While the precise health risks of Bluetooth transmissions are somewhat unknown, I'd just as soon limit the proximity to my head.
It's extremely light weight with a compact form factor, and the simplicity of the miniature joystick control is brilliant, even for my huge hands and fingers. So far, it appears to be quite efficient with power usage, and I love that it recharges via USB, with the USB charge cable included.
There is one item that I would consider to be a significant design flaw that Sony should fix if they design another (even smaller) version, and I hope that they do. The built-in, plastic spring loaded clip used to clip it onto your cloths, etc., is far too flimsy for even casual use. On my unit, the clip broke off at the hinge and it's just too tiny and delicate to attempt any type of lasting repair. I happened to have a small Velcro strap with a metal clip on it, the kind you might see threaded through the hole of an identification badge clipped to one's jacket lapel, which works perfectly for me, actually better than the original.
The price seems a bit high, but because this unit fits my needs, I use it all the time, so I'm comfortable that it was a good purchase. I have to deduct from the rating, not just because my clip broke, but because Sony should have given more realistic consideration to the design, for that price.
