(More customer reviews)The Q-See Camera Kit is a great buy for anyone who wants to monitor an area wirelessly and with ease - during the day, that is. The camera was not made for low light conditions, and an unlit room will just show up as static and black. Also, the item description was not very informative, and there is only one 9-V Battery adapter (for use with the camera), even though it will also work with the receiver. However, there are two wall power adapters for both the camera/receiver. This didn't make much sense, especially if the receiver needs to be powered by a battery for your purposes.
The camera is incredibly small, more then I had thought. The pictures online didn't do it justice - I'll post a comparison picture later.
The range is okay. The camera just barely works through my house, with the receiver in one end of the house and the camera in the other, the image is static-y and hard to see.
For a $35 dollar camera, this tiny camera is great for anyone who wants to monitor a room close by with no cables or problems.

Q-See wireless systems allow you to monitor areas where it is difficult to set up a standard camera. The QSWLMCR is an indoor mini wireless camera and receiver combination that allows you to monitor an area through a TV. You can also attach the receiver to a VCR or DVR to record the video files. (More customer reviews)We got a Harmony 700 remote, a Next Generation Remote Control Extender, and the 6-eye extender. Our remote control experience is now perfect and utterly awesome. Easily with a click of just one button, we can turn on everything we need and it all comes on, configured right for what we want to do. Or turn it all off with one press. And it doesn't matter where we are in the house. This has made a huge difference for us because the projector is above and behind our heads, and the rest of the media equipment is to the left and also behind. It was previously impossible, even with the Harmony remote, to control everything in one pass. Because of the different locations we'd have to aim at the media center, wait until everything was off, then press another button and aim at the project and wait until it was off. Now we don't have to aim at all. We can do the instinctive "point at the screen" and it all works, thanks to the RF of the Next Generation, and the IR extender cables of the particular product I'm reviewing here, the Next Generation 6-Eye IR Extender.
The cables for the Eye Extender are long. This was important to us because it means they reach the projector *and* the rest of the equipment. And I like that they come stuck together but can easily be separated. I only separated what I needed to, and this makes it a little easier to keep cables neat. The little IR eyes are small and discreet. I'm very pleased with this product!

(More customer reviews)I bought these headphones so that my girlfriend could watch TV without disturbing me while I'm on the computer, and so that I could watch TV while she's asleep.
They're tight, and I guess they have to be to keep them on your head - the receiver and batteries add weight. The package claims "Soft earpads cushion your head for hours of wearing comfort" but that's simply not true. Hard plastic speaker casing sits right up against your hear with only a thin bit of foam protecting you, no real protection at all. Then a foam donut surrounds the speaker casing and gives the appearance of a lot of cushy foam to protect your ears.
If you wear them just right it's not too bad, but if you have it so that the hard plastic rests on your ears, it can become very irritating.
The sound quality is pretty good. The bass response is good, and it's fun to play video games with. The base plugs in to the headphones and will recharge ni-cad batteries, or they take 2 AAA batteries if you, for some reason, don't want to use the ni-cad batteries. The base and headphones are compact when at rest, just like in the photo.
I'd love to try another pair to see if there's a more comfortable set out there.

(More customer reviews)I have these set up in my apartment where the base is plugged into my receiver in the living room and then I have one speaker mounted in the bathroom and the other in the bedroom so I can listen to my morning show no matter where I am without having to turn up my surround sound system and annoying my neighbors. The speaker come with their own AC adapters or you can use 4 D batteries and make them truly wireless. They each have their own power and volume buttons, so you can play one and not the other if you want. Very cool.

(More customer reviews)It's not pretty. The sound is not great. But it does what I wanted it to: gets sound from my living room receiver into the kitchen.
Setup is very easy. Everything you could need to connect is included. The unit tunes automatically so there is no fussing with a tuning knob. The auto-tuning is quick and effective.
As promised, the transmitter is compatible with my AW-721 cordless headphones. I now have both transmitters connected to my receiver. (It doesn't seem to help with static but why not.)
In general the signal seems to come through with little interference. The sound is slightly distorted, something I had noticed with the headphones also. It is also overall somewhat tinny. It is hard to say whether that is from the transmission or the just all-right speaker.
One nice feature they don't advertise: if you buy the eight (!) C batteries needed to make this truly portable, you can charge them in the unit. (If you buy NiCad or NiMH batteries- try www.thomas-distributing.com)
Apparently, Acoustic Research and Advent are the same manufacturer.

(More customer reviews)I recently bought a used minivan. The DVD player wasn't working- replacements are upwards of $800 at the dealership!?!?! Looked around and even cheaper DVD players are more than double what I paid for this (refurbished) unit.
I searched around and found this GEM, and after using it a couple times, am Very Impressed.
-Picture quality is great!
-Headphones seem comfortable, and work anywhere you can see the screen.
-Installation was fairly simple, using a metal plate and pre-run power cables already in my van from the previous install. The screws that came with the unit are perfect- they are self-drilling through metal. (DON'T just screw it into the roof though!!!) The wiring is plenty long and high-quality, with shrink-wrap even! (Just use a HOT hair dryer once everything is installed.)
-Plenty of video options. There are 2 A/V in and 1 A/V out- including a cable long enough to run down into even the biggest van/SUV for a game system, vcr, satellite TV, whatever. You could use ANOTHER A/V cable and have two different sources!
-It plays MPEG, WMV, and SOME AVI movies on burnt CDs and DVDs.!!!!!
-Packaging was very very professional, the unit looked brand new.
Possible CONS-
-No instruction manual in the box. It was very hard to find on the Clarion website, search never found the model number. Look under 2007 products- [...]
-No RF modulator, needed for playing the audio on the Car's stereo system. -But it comes with 2 pair of headphones. -But do kids want to wear rather large headphones for a Long time?
-No regular headphone jack for other headphones. (You can buy more IR headphones on ebay, amazon, etc...)
-No A/V jack. It's all wiring on the "top" (as mounted) of the unit. So you either have cables hanging or have to install them to somewhere.
-90 day warranty.
I rate the unit 5/5 based on the price and features.

(More customer reviews)This does not work as a wireless headphone. When connected to my ipod less than 2 feet away the sound is garbled and cracky. It doesn't improve no matter how you maneuver the transmitter or the headphones or how far away you are. Once in a while I could actually hear for a few seconds what the person was saying on the podcast. Most of the time it was crackling and static. The FM transmitter does work though.
The "ergonomic" design is ridiculous. It's a one-size-fits-all non-adjustable headphone with the hardest plastic on earth possible. It goes around the back of your head and is very uncomfortable, especially on the ears.
