(More customer reviews)The product appears to be well-made and of good quality materials, and it does amplify the sound so that with my hearing deficiency I can hear and understand dialogue on the TV without blasting others out of the room. However, the sound is tinny and you have to be sitting up fairly straight in order for the microphone on the earpiece to pcik up the sound. This devise doesn't work when you are stretched out and the microphone is not aimed at the sound source. I thought this was a transmitter that relayed the sound, but it is just a powerful microphone. The earpieces are OK, but get uncomfortable after extended use. Also, be prepared for the devise to pick up a distracting "scuffing" sound as it rubs against your clothing when you move slightly. While far from ideal, I would purchase it again, since it allows for comfortable sound levels for everyone when persons with normal hearing are watching TV with me.

(More customer reviews)I previously owned the 605 WiFi and the Vision 3. This is a huge step up. PROS: great sound, excellent video playback, very responsive screen (especially for a resistive touch), G-Sensor and Accelerometer works great, Browser is awesome, games run great, etc. Now I updated to the newest firmware only to find that youtube has not been fixed. But here's the thing...I used a hack to install marketplace and now Youtube works great. Strange?
CONS: proprietary plugs, too many accessories that you have to buy to get full experience, charge time is kind of extreme, does not come with marketplace. it has their own version. gets lots of fingerprints!
They almost messed this one up. they are so close i can taste it. Every year they release a amazing play on paper...but when you use it...you find that certain features may or may not work. or work half a**. This is very close. In october they will be releasing ever better players that include so much more including built in camera :-). It's not bad...i still prefer it over the iPod touch. especially since it will sync with nearly any player. not just itunes. works with Winamp and Windows Media player. Another cool thing is that if you have album art...it will import it. very cool. There are two versions of the Archos 5. one with android and one without. It was definitely a good idea to go WITH android. It's almost impossible to screw up android. Having owned the iPod Touch, iPhone, Archos 605, and more....I can honestly say...this one isn't bad. especially for the price. Wish it had more space though. 16gb isn't enough for me. but hey...it comes with the SD slot too so you can add up to 32gb. awesome!

RCA RC926 Wireless Phone Jack Review

(More customer reviews)I use the RC926 to add an extra phone jack for my DirecTivos and standalone DirecTV receiver. All three receivers are split off from the extension jack and I have never had a problem with the units making the required service data call.
Edit: I also have DSL but use 2Wire filters (not the generic filters provided by Verizon) for greater clarity. A filter has to be placed between the jack and the wireless BASE unit for the wireless extension unit to function properly with DSL.
Note: Tivos and DirecTivos DO HAVE MODEMS so Rios' title header is somewhat misleading. But the facts in the body of the review are correct. Per Page 10 of RCA's manual (which is available on their website): "Note: The maximum baud rate for the Wireless Phone Jack is 14,400. Best results, however, will be experienced at 9,600." This limitation is why I knocked off a star.
So yes, I would not recommend that you attempt to surf the Internet using this jack or use it for any purpose where a high baud rate is important. But the phone jack is perfectly fine for voice, fax, and satellite receiver use.

(More customer reviews)I recently acquired this charging station when I purchased a new iPod Classic 160 GB. (Replacing a 5 year old 60 GB Photo Classic that died after a rather short life, in my opinion.) This charging station fulfills the same function as the charging station that came with my old iPod (no charging station with the new one) plus provides a simple function remote for working with the music. Basically, you can turn the iPod on or off, adjust volume, or move forward or back on the current play list. All the functionality I need. I cannot comment about the range because my desk is barely 5 feet from my stereo. Seems to work fine over that range.
My concerns:
One: For some reason the charging base has a pilot light that seems essentially useless.
Two: The fit of the iPod into the base is not "tight" like the base was with my old iPod. I wonder if, over time, this will put a strain on the connector pins on the base and/or the iPod.
Three: Having previously used an AirClick remote with my old iPod, I note that this remote carries forward two annoying features.
First, it has a switch to enable/disable the remote. In my experience, this was a useless feature that more often was bumped in error and led to frustration thinking the remove was not working.
Second, if you need to replace the battery inside the remote (it lasted a long time for me with my older AirClick) the bottom of the remote is held on by three of the tiniest screws you can imagine. Ultimately i lost two of the screws on my old remote. Sometimes I would have to take the base off because the battery would shift out of position.
Overall, this product is pretty good. I did not really cross shop other products to see if there was something better because the price was reasonable and it met my needs. Really my biggest concern is about the way the 160 GB iPod Classic is not tightly held in the base.

Would have given it 5 stars but it has to be re-paired too often. So you cue up an audio book and turn it on only to find you need to go through the more lengthy repairing process.

(More customer reviews)My FIOS HD (non-DVR) box series QIP6200 had a port labeled "IR". With some internet investigation and an impressivly prompt email reply from the vendor IR-Resources I learned that my FIOS box had only either an IR-output or a service port...which was why the IR receiver would not work.
The GREAT news for me was that Verizon (with one phone call & a later trip to the local Verizon center) did a no-cost swap to an updated FIOS HD (non-DVR) box QIP7100 series that had "IR INPUT" port. The IR Recieiver works 1000% as I expected with the 7100 series box. I am now able to put my FIOS box inside a closed door entertainment unit and still have full remote control functions.
Delivery was prompt, the items (I bought 2) were well wrapped etc. and were exactly as represented. The receiver head is small & pretty much invisible on the black frame of my plasma TV and the 9 foot lead wire was plenty......
I'm not sure what happened to the other reviewers but when I first contacted IR Resources they willingly offered me a full refund if I so desired. They also followed thru promptly to update the Amzon posting as not-compatable w/ the Verizon 6000 series ......and again I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT HOW VERY VERY VERY PROMPTLY IR-RESOURCES REPLIED TO MY EMAIL SENT VIA AMAZON. If only every internet vendor was this responsible!!!
