(More customer reviews)I love these headphones. In fact, I'm online today buying a replacement set for the one I've been using for over a year (battery leaked inside base and killed the contact!). You can easily switch between FM stations, and from radio to your computer/MP3/TV by using a button on the headset. Volume is controlled on the headset. Both the headset and base run on batteries, so you don't need to have yet another electrical outlet available to use these. I am totally amazed at how long the base will transmit on a pair of AAA batteries. In fact, I never had to replace the batteries in my unit, which is why I didn't realize one of the batteries was leaking. I must admit, that I don't use the headphones more than about an hour each day, but still, the battery life is great. I really love that I can walk into my kitchen -- 2 rooms away from the base -- and still have good reception, so I can listen to music from my computer while doing dishes, making dinner, etc. You can't beat this unit for the price. Note: I don't use it for TV; just use connected to my computer for playing music, or listening to FM radio.

(More customer reviews)I just moved from a house to an apartment and decided there should be a way to cancel cable and just watch Hulu on my 50" plasma for free. I researched online and found this product to have the highest customer rating, so I bought it. I spent an enlightening hour on the phone with their tech support, and here's some things you should know. My apartment is 740sq ft. My computer is located just around a corner and exactly 24 feet from my TV.
1st: the product WILL NOT WORK with Windows 7. They're working on the issue. Yeah, great.
2nd: when they say 30 foot max distance, they mean it and even that is stretching the truth.
3rd: when they don't say anything about REQUIRING a direct line of sight, they are omitting facts. I had to hold the USB piece in mid air with a direct line of sight to the TV and it still only had 2 orange bars (should have 5 green).
4th: other wireless devices WILL interfere with reception, even at different frequencies. The tech told me this. My wireless router was blamed for the choppy video coming across to the TV.
I even hooked it up to my netbook and placed it 12 feet from the TV-- video was still choppy. Bottom line, if you're looking to watch video from the internet on your TV wirelessly, you are ahead of your time. Maybe in a few years someone will figure it out. Iogear is not that someone. I returned for a refund, and Amazon was, as always, absolutely wonderful.

First it is not 16:9, it is 4:3. In a drop down of 15" that means you will be losing more of your rear view mirror sight lines for the same amount of picture as a 12" 16:9. 99% of films are 16:9.
Second this thing is VERY flimsy and bounces like all heck.
Third, get a monitor with a higher resolution. at 15" 800x 400 (what you will really see with 16:9 on this 4:3 @ 800x600) looks terrible.
Another reviewer mentioned that you cant expect higher resolutions. Wrong. You are goign to spend a lot of time (at least three hours) researching how to drop your headliner (look on your car user forums on the net) where to tap power etc and mounting. Most thinking people are going to install a media streamer like a seagate theater ($50 or less), asus, WD etc and a cheap hard drive and have hundreds of movies, after going to all the trouble of mounting an overhead. After all that why on earth would you not spend $50 more and get a higher definition monitor given streamers can give you a much better pic? And if you are not going to get a streamer now and are going to use an older dvd unit, you will not be able to upgrade.
Forth the product specs are wrong on many counts almost all telling you you are getting more than you are getting. EG specs as of this date say there is antishock for DVD. there is no dvd.

It works perfectly and the sound quality is excellent in both the headset and the speaker. My father can listen to sports games and the news and it has uplifted his spirits so much. Also he can listen via the headset while someone else can listen to the sound out of the speaker (with or without a plug-in headset) without bothering his room mate. (More customer reviews)Having purchased similar items from another manufacturer in the past, I was surprised to find that the item ships batteries not included. The range is also noticeably less than that of the competing product that I have purchased- I usually have to click the button two or three times just to switch the lights across the room. Also, the oversized outlet takes up two plug spaces. On the plus side, the product is much cheaper than competitors, considering that you get separate control of three different outlets with one remote. With the competitor's product, you'd have to buy three packages and juggle three remotes, so if you want separate control of multiple outlets from one remote, this is definitely the way to go.
UPDATE 2/8/11 ------------------------------------
This product didn't last very long before it stopped working. I'd recommend other alternatives. There's a reason this product is so cheap relative to the competition.

After we had it installed we found out the monitor didn't work so we sent it back ($50+ shipping we had to pay for) and got a new one. Got the 2nd one installed only to find out the DVD player wouldn't read any discs and put nasty scratches on the discs that we tried to play. My husband and I and the installation tech tried to contact PYLE several times and got no answer and no return calls or email responses so we returned the 2nd one (again, another $50+ in shipping we had to pay for). Don't waste your money or your time with this product - it's a piece of junk! And after their lack of support, we'll never buy another PYLE product again.

(More customer reviews)I bought these JVC headphones as I have a hearing loss and I always get complaints about the TV being too loud. I bought JVC because I have a JVC sound processor. My impression of the headphones is that they are not a well-designed unit.
I have experienced two main problems with this headphone/transmitter set. First, the positioning of the headset in the charger/transmitter has to be perfect or the headset will not charge. And it is very problematic to position the headphones in the charger in exactly the correct manner. If the headset is not perfectly placed, it will not charge the batteries. Therefore, intelligent user-friendly engineering of the charge/headset combo is really lacking. Secondly, the transmitter on my unit will suddenly go off and transmit loud static! That will wake you up real quick! The sound may stop transmitting for up to a minute or more, and then it will come back on. The problem became more frequent so I finally stopped using the headset entirely. JVC has the WORST customer service center in the entire civilized world, (I have tried to get other JVC items serviced and have had nothing but trouble with them), so I junked the unit. I bought a Sony headset and so far it works great.
My advice is to avoid this JVC product.

(More customer reviews)These are inexpensive and a bargain at this price. I can hear with them out in my yard but not all the way to the road and pretty much all over the house. It's a small house.
I'm using rechargeable batteries on the headset and am still on the first charge so am happy with that. I have the transmitter plugged into a Radio Shack adjustable voltage power adapter of the 12 volt variety running off one of those power packs used for starting cars so no problem there wrt battery life.
It may have to scan a bit to find the station but that will depend on your location. I found it would pick up some regular fm stations but you can scan past them to find your signal.
The only thing that keeps me from giving it five stars is they could be more comfortable. The pads don't cover my whole ears so after awhile you
can feel the pressure on your ears.
I haven't tested the other features.
Recommend at this price point.

According to what Amazon had listed (product dimensions 5 x 15.2 x 18.8 and dimensions 16 x 12.5x 2.5) it should have been about 15", which I thought I was paying for and chose this one based on these dimensions. The actual one I received was much smaller and only probably a 13" (outside dimensions are about 12 x 13.5). I could have gotten a better deal elsewhere if I had wanted a 13". I called and explained this and finally received a replacement - which turned out to be exactly the same size. I ended up keeping it because of the long delay and hassle but I am totally displeased with Amazon for what I feel was completely inaccurate advertising of this product.

(More customer reviews)I bought two of these adapters. I recived them within a week and one worked as it should and the other did not. The return process is a bit of a hassle and I haven't yet recieved the replacement (however, it's only been a few days). The one that works operates well and has good range in open space. A major problem for me is that the battery seems to only last about 1.5 hours before the sound begins to drop out occaisionally. Overall the quality is mediocre and performance is reasonable for the price. I would probably advise a friend to spend a little more and try a different adapter.
Update the one that I could get to work has quit after 2 weeks. The one that did not work originally was sent back 2 weeks ago with no response from the manufacturer. Junk and Junk. Don't buy this get something else.

(More customer reviews)This is our second set of these headphones and we have been very happy with the quality. At this price we expected some minor "issues" but they have performed well. My husband has hearing loss as does a friend. The two guys each put on a set of the headphones and they run off a single base (you can't charge while using headphones though!). When you first turn them on ... you hear hiss but once you have sound coming through it disappears. These have very good range as well. I have a split level home and we can go up a set of stairs and to the opposite far end of the house (even behind a closed door) and the sound comes through! They hold a charge very nicely but when they go ... they go with a pop and that is it. I love to use them late at night to watch our big screen without bothering those sleeping in the house.

(More customer reviews)I had great hopes for this product. I set it up as per the directions and at first I thought it was working, it transmitted the cable signal from one room to about twenty feet into the kitchen. But, the ability to change the channel via the "IR mouse" and remote just didn't work. Period. So, I switched the cable set up to feed the "raw" cable signal into the splitter so the transmitter got 25 channels. I was able to change channels and this would have been acceptable had it continued to function this way. But, now once the unit had been running a few minutes, the remote no could no longer function. At first I thought maybe it was a dead battery and so I replaced it but, once again, the remote stopped working. At this point, turned it off and re-read the instructions and went over the wiring setup. This was about 15 minutes after which I turned the units back on and it appeared to be functioning. I watched a little of the golf match and when a commercial came on, I tried to change the channel and nothing. Not one button the remote functioned. So, at this point I've decided to send the units back and try my luck with the manufacture.
